Check out the box office collection report of Telugu films "Pataas" and "Gopala Gopala".
Pataas
Kalyan Ram's "Pataas" took a good opening on the first day of its release by raking in ₹1.7 crore. The film, which hit the screens on 23 January, received good reviews from critics and the audience alike.
Thanks to the positive word-of-mouth, "Pataas" continues to fare well and maintain steady business at the box office. The film is estimated to have earned around ₹1.2 crore share on the second day, according to Andhraboxoffice.
Sunday and Monday (Republic Day) being holidays, "Pataas" is likely to end the four-day-long weekend with good collections. Andhraboxoffice website has stated that the film has been sold for reasonable prices and is likely to earn career-best figures for Kalyanram.
The actor's last release "OM 3D" failed to set the cash registers ringing. But, "Pataas" has managed to strike a chord with the audience, thanks to its commercial elements. Besides, there are no big Telugu releases in the near future and therefore "Pataas" is expected to continue its good run at the box office and emerge as a hit venture.
Directed by Anil Ravipudi, "Pataas" is an action-comedy entertainer with Kalyan Ram playing the role of a corrupt police officer. Shruti Sodhi plays the female lead opposite Kalyan Ram, while the film's other cast members include MS Narayana, Sai Kumar and Ashutosh Rana. The commercial potboiler is produced by NTR Arts banner.
Gopala Gopala
Pawan Kalyan-Venkatesh starrer "Gopala Gopala" has surpassed the ₹40-crore mark at the worldwide box office.
"Gopala Gopala," released on 10 January, took good openings at the box office. The film continued to maintain its business, thanks to decent reviews and the long Sankranti holidays.
The satirical-comedy drama has become the 16th Telugu film to surpass the ₹40-crore mark, reported Andhraboxoffice. It is also Pawan's third film to achieve the feat after "Attarintiki Daaredi" and "Gabbar Singh." For Venkatesh, "Gopala Gopala" will be the second film to enter the ₹40-crore club after "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu."
The Kishore Pardasany directorial revolves around two characters – God and a common man who is an atheist. Mithun Chakraborty, Posani Krishna Murali, Shreya Saran and Madhu Shalini are also part of the cast. The film is produced by Suresh Babu and Sharrath Marar, while its music is composed by Anup Rubens.
