MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has collected Rs 66 crore nett at the Indian box office in three days. The biopic is now second on the list of highest grossing Hindi films in opening weekend in 2016.
Before its release, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story had huge hype for being the biopic of Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The makers had organised massive promotions, which helped the movie register good advance booking. Experts from the industry had predicted that the film would start with a bang, but they never imagined the kind of response it would get on its opening day.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story made superb collection and went on to become the second biggest opener, beating the records of Housefull 3, Fan and Rustom. The Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer impressed audience and critics and the word-of-mouth boosted its collection over the weekend. The film surprised everyone in the industry by crossing Rs 50 crore mark in the domestic market in three days.
