The Shakun Batra directorial, "Kapoor and Sons," has earned Rs. 62.52 crore, so far. The film, which does not feature A-list Bollywood stars, has earned over Rs. 62 crore in 12-day theatrical run from the domestic box office.

"KapoorAndSons [Week 2] Fri 4.21 cr, Sat 4.24 cr, Sun 3.64 cr, Mon 1.80 cr, Tue 1.70 cr. Total: ₹ 62.52 cr. India biz. SUPER!" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The Fawad, Sidharth and Alia-starrer is all set to beat the lifetime box office collection records of Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer "Tamasha" (Rs. 67.26 crore), Ajay Devgn starrer
"Drishyam" (Rs. 67.13 crore) and comedy film "Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2" (Rs. 64.1 crore). "Kapoor and Sons" should beat the records of the above-mentioned films by the end of the second week and by its third weekend, it will beat Sonam Kapoor's "Neerja" to become the second highest grosser of the year.

Produced under the banner of Dharma Productions, the family drama also features Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah and Rajat Kapoor in pivotal roles. The film was released in 1,500 screens March 18.

Ambarsariya

Punjabi film "Ambarsariya" has turned out to be a blockbuster hit with a box office collection of Rs. 7 crore from four-day run in India. The film witnessed a significant drop in its collection on its fourth day compared to opening day, but one cannot dismiss the fact that the film was released on a Good Friday holiday.

Diljit Dosanjh-starrer "Ambarsariya" will continue to do well at the box office, as this week's Bollywood release has failed to garner the occupancy in theaters.

The rom-com, directed by Mandeep Kumar, features Diljit, Navneet Kaur Dhillon, Monica Gill and Lauren Gotliebb in the lead roles.
