Ram Charan's "Govindudu Andarivaadele" ("GAV") has taken good openings at the AP/Nizam box office.
The film has minted ₹8.55 crore on its first day at the AP/Nizam box office, according to Andhraboxoffice.
The Ram Charan starrer has failed to beat the opening day collections of Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daaredi," which still remains on top with ₹10.75 crore share. "GAV" has also failed to beat Ram Charan's "Yevadu" first day collections (₹8.65 crore).
However, "GAV" has managed to take the 9th spot in the list of films with all time top 10 opening day shares. The family entertainer has surpassed the opening day collections of Mahesh Babu's "1 Nenokkadine," which amounts to ₹8.4 crore.
Directed by Krishna Vamsi, "GAV" has Ram Charan playing the role of an NRI. Kajal Aggarwal has teamed up with the actor for the third time post the success of "Magadheera" and "Naayak." Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Srikanth are also part of the film's cast.
"GAV" received positive reviews from the critics on the first day of its release. Positive word of mouth is likely to help the film rake in better collections in the coming days.
The long weekend (from 2-5 October) is expected to boost the film's business and end the first weekend on a good note.
Besides AP and Telangana areas, "GAV" is expected to perform well in other states including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and in overseas markets.
The film has collected $174,000 through premieres in the United States. It has got the biggest opening for a Ram Charan starrer.
"#govindhuduandarivadele collects 174k USD thru premieres in USA. Biggest opening for Ram Charan in USA," tweeted Jeevi of idlebrain.
With no big releases for the next few weeks, "GAV" is expected to dominate the screens and fare well at the box office. Whether the film will be able to break in the list of all time top Telugu films with highest worldwide share is something one needs to wait and watch.
