Nani's "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" (Magadivoy/BBM) turned out to be the biggest money spinner at the box office last weekend, beating rivals "Dynamite" and "Jayasurya".
"Bhale Bhale Magadivoi", "Dynamite" and "Jayasurya" are among the most-waited Telugu movies of 2015. Nani and Vishnu Manchu's film released in over 700 cinema halls across the globe, while Vishal's movie was screened in a limited number of theatres.
A day before its release, "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" registered an average of 70% advance booking for its opening day. Its booking was much bigger than that of other two new releases. The movie had paid premieres in the USA on Thursday night and raked in $70,132 in these previews.
"Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" opened to an earth-shattering response in theatres around the world on Friday. The movie recorded an average of 90% occupancy and ran to packed houses in many places. The film grossed about Rs 5 crore at the worldwide box office on the first day.
The Nani and Lavanya Tripathi starrer received positive reviews from viewers and critics, apart from good word-of-mouth, enabling collection. "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" is estimated to have collected Rs 14 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its first weekend. The film has fetched about Rs 9 crore to its distributors in three days.
"Dynamite" had a better advance booking and a huge amount of screen count than the other new release "Jayasurya". The Vishnu Manchu starrer opened to a decent response and showed good growth on Saturday and Sunday. The film is estimated to have grossed Rs 10 crore at the worldwide box office.
Vishal's "Jayasurya" debuted with good response and did decent business over the weekend. The film is estimated to have grossed Rs 4.5 crore at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend. It has landed in the third place, while "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" and "Dynamite" occupied the first and second place, respectively, in the weekend business chart.
