The film did better business than "Vikramasimha," which earned around ₹3 crore share in its first weekend in AP. The epic drama opened to mixed reviews from critics as well as from the audience, which might have affected its business in the state. Moreover, the release of "Manam" has further affected the film's prospects. The family entertainer, which is Akkineni Nageswara Rao's last film, fetched positive feedback from the critics and fans.
The film had a slow and steady start on the opening day. Positive word of mouth helped the film sustain its business on the second day. The Akkineni multi starrer earned around ₹4 crore share in two days at the AP box office. It continued to remain rock steady on Sunday (25 May) and minted a total over ₹6 crore in the debut weekend in AP.
The film took off on a fantastic note at the US box office and it is estimated to have grossed around $800,000. With the inclusion of the collections from the US, "Manam" might have minted over ₹10 crore share in three days at the worldwide box office.
With no big releases, "Manam" is expected to continue its good run in the coming days as well. While the film's weekend collections have been strong, it will be interesting to see how the film fares during the weekdays.
