Action-packed entertainer "Arrambam" (aka "Aarambam") has approximately grossed ₹54 crore in its first week at the worldwide box office. [Also Read: "Arrambam" Beats "Thuppakki", "Singam 2" and "Thalaivaa"]
The film's collections from India is said to be around ₹36.6 crore. With the inclusion of collections from overseas markets, "Arrambam" is estimated to have grossed ₹54 crore, reported AndhraBoxOffice.
A major chunk of the film's collections are from Tamil Nadu, where it raked in around ₹30 crore nett. The Ajith starrer has also performed well in other states, including Kerala and Karnataka. It has also done extraordinary business in overseas markets as well.
"Arrambam" is the big winner of all Diwali releases in Tamil. While the film's gross from India is estimated to be around ₹36.6 crore, its share will be approximately ₹23-₹26 crore. Its worldwide share will be around ₹30-₹34 crore.
With "Arrambam" doing good business, the focus has now shifted to Ajith's upcoming film "Veeram." Directed by "Siruthai" Siva, "Veeram" will have Ajith and Tamannah playing the leads. Ajith, who was seen in stylish avatars in his past releases, will reportedly sport a rural look in "Veeram."
Recently, a small teaser of the film was released in theatres. It will be double treat for Ajith fans who visit theatres to watch "Arrambam", as they will also get treated with "Veeram" teaser. The teaser shows a set of goons, armed with weapons, on the move. Then, the camera pans towards Ajith who has retained his salt and pepper hair. The teaser has got good response from "Thala" (Ajith is fondly referred by this name) fans.
"Veeram" is all set to hit the screens on 10 January 2014. Produced by Vijaya Productions, "Veeram" will have music by Devi Sri Prasad of "Singam 2" fame. [To check out "Veeram" teaser click here]
