The threat to blow up actor Ajith's house has now turned out to be a hoax.
The police control room in Chennai reportedly received a call from an unknown person on Saturday, threatening to blow up Ajith's residence on the ECR Road.
Following the threat, police personnel landed at the actor's residence at around 5 am and launched a search operation. However, the cops did not find anything. Ajith was reportedly not at home when the search took place.
"In the early hours of August 30, the police control room reportedly received a threat to Ajith. No particular reason was given for issuing the threat," a source told The Times of India.
"The police swung swiftly into action and silently launched a thorough search operation to ensure that there was no threat to the actor. Ajith was not at home as he was at a night shoot when the police conducted the search," the source added.
Police believe that the call could have been made by someone in an inebriated state. They are now trying to trace the person who had made the call.
Ajith is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film with Gautham Menon. The film, referred as "Thala 55" by fans, is progressing well and is all set to be completed soon.
Ajith will reportedly appear in four different avatars, which span from age 28 to 35. The actor is said to be playing a cop's role in the musical action thriller. Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan, Vivek and Arun Vijay are also part of the cast.
There will be six songs in the film, composed by Harris Jayaraj. The composer has teamed up with Gautham after nearly six years.
Expectations on "Thala 55" are massive as Ajith, Gautham and Harris are joining hands for the first time. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see the first look poster of the action entertainer. Earlier, there was a strong buzz that the film's title and first look poster will be released on Ganesh Chathurthi. However, that did not happen, much to the disappointment of fans.
"Thala 55" is expected to hit the screens during Pongal in 2015 but there has been no official confirmation in this regard.
