'Baahubali' (Bahubali) 1st Weekend Collection at Box Office: Business of Rajamouli's Film Crosses ₹165 Cr in 3 Days

SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali - the Beginning" (Bahubali) has grossed approximately ₹169 crore at the worldwide box office in the first weekend and its three-day collection is not only more than Tollywood blockbusters, but also Bollywood movies like "PK".

On 10 July, "Baahubali - the Beginning" released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam in 4,200 screens across the globe and received an earth-shattering response everywhere. The movie grossed approximately ₹75 crore (₹60 crore nett) at the worldwide box office on the first day. It became an all-time biggest opener (Indian cinema) in the global market, beating the record of Aamir Khan's "PK".

Accelerated by the strong word of mouth, "Baahubali - the Beginning" witnessed a big leap on Saturday and grossed ₹65 crore (₹52 crore nett) at the worldwide box office on the second day. This is another biggest record in Indian cinema. The movie smashed the lifetime collection of many big-ticket Telugu movies such as "Gopala Gopala", "Lion", "Temper", "Aagadu", "S/O Satyamurthy" and others.

On Sunday, "Baahubali - the Beginning" had massive growth in business in all the regions. The film has grossed approximately ₹70 crore (₹57 crore nett) at the global box office on its third day. Its three-day gross total stands at ₹197 crore (₹169 crore nett).

Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi" was the highest grosser Tollywood movie with its lifetime collection of ₹74.88 crore nett in the global market. "Baahubali - the Beginning" has shattered this collection record in just three days. Its massive business has rendered all the filmmakers of India speechless.

"Baahubali - the Beginning" has fetched ₹135 crore to ₹140 crore from the sale of its distribution rights in different regions. In just three days, the Prabhas-Rana Daggubati-Tamannaah-Anushka Shetty starrer has fetched ₹120 crore to ₹125 crore to the distributors, who have recovered around 90% of their investments in the movie.
