The new releases- "Youngistaan", "O Teri" and "Dishkiyaoon"- did not show sign of growth in their opening weekend run. However, previous releases "Ragini MMS 2" and "Queen" scored well during their respective second and fourth weekend.
"Youngistaan" maintained the lead position at the domestic box office during the opening weekend. The film had the highest collection with around ₹4 crore, followed by "Dishkiyaoon" with ₹3.5 crore and "O Teri" with ₹2.25 crore, according to boxofficeindia.
The film will score on Monday due to Gudi Padwa and Ugadi holiday in several circuits.
Sunny Leone's erotic thriller "Ragini MMS 2" has scored over the new releases and "Queen" in its second weekend.
The film's collection declined on second Friday, but it picked the pace on Saturday and Sunday, raking in ₹6.5 crore from second weekend.
The 10 day total of the horror thriller produced under Balaji Telefilms banner is ₹45.88 crore.
"#RaginiMMS2 [Week 2] Fri 1.50 cr, Sat 2.25 cr, Sun 2.75 cr. Grand total: ₹ 45.88 cr nett. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The film will maintain the steady pace during its second week run, but it remains to be seen how it survives at the box office after the release of Varun Dhawan's "Main Tera Hero."
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut's "Queen" has again showed growth in its income on fourth Saturday and Sunday. The film had slowed down on the first day of fourth week, but the poor performances of new releases have helped "Queen" box office business.
The film raked in around ₹55 crore since its release.
"#Queen [Week 4] Fri 75 lacs, Sat 1.25 cr, Sun 1.60 cr. Grand total: Rs 55.05 cr nett. India biz," Adarsh tweeted.
"Queen" box office performance will get affected drastically after the release of "Main Tera Hero," but it remains to be seen whether the new release will stop Ranaut's film run in India.
