Sony Corp has officially begun rolling out Android Jelly Bean updates for its 2013 mid-range smartphone Xperia M (both Single and Dual-SIM models).
The electronics giant confirmed the news on its official twitter page saying, "We're rolling new firmware for #XperiaM (4.1) & Xperia M dual (4.2) - brings performance improvements, UI & camera tweaks".
The updates are said to be available through OTA (Over-The-Air) and can also downloaded via Sony PC companion (Windows based computer user) as well as Bridge (people using Apple Mac PC).
Sony has released v4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware (build number: 15.1.C.2.8) for single-SIM Xperia M model. The v4.2.2 (build number: 15.2.A.2.5) is rolled out to the other variant Xperia M Dual. New OS updates for both Sony devices are available in India as well.

Check for new software update availability on your smartphone by:
Going to Settings > About phone > Software updates > System updates.
Key enhancements expected to be seen on Xperia M (Single-SIM) with Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean update:
- Smoother user-Interface, bi-directional text and more language support
- Multi-Windows multitasking ability with enable and disable options as well as introduction of new camera tools
- Two home screen modes and new options for customising notification panel
- Page Buddy and Google Now and other features like Direct Call, Smart Stay, and Pop-up play
- Ehancements in performance
Key enhancements expected to be seen on Xperia M Dual with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean update:
- Newer UI (User-Interface) and camera feature tweaks
- Long pressing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth icons in quick settings can the features on/off.
- New download notifications; it shows percentage and estimated time remaining for applications downloads
- Improvements in performance
