August releases "Chennai Express", "Madras Cafe" and "Satyagraha" have finished their respective theatrical run at the box office with good numbers.
The first release of the month, "Chennai Express", has done extremely well in terms of collections at the domestic box office. Rohit Shetty's directorial film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has so far accumulated ₹224.43 crore from collection centres in India.
The family entertainer has raked in ₹6.01 crore in its fourth week despite the limited number of screens.
"ChennaiExpress breakup for Week 4: Fri 81 lacs, Sat 1.14 cr, Sun 1.89 cr, Mon 56 lacs, Tue 51 lacs, Wed 48 lacs, Thu 62 lacs," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The week wise breakup of the film is: ₹156 crore on first week, ₹43.85 crore on second week, ₹17.87 crore on third week and ₹6.01 crore on fourth week.
The film dominated the market in the first two weeks, but after the release of "Madras Cafe" collections of the SRK starrer declined drastically.
Political thriller "Madras Cafe" is directed by Shoojit Sircar and features John Abraham and Nargis Fakri in lead roles. The film, which ruled the box office in its first week, had seen a fall in business in its second week due to the release of "Satyagraha".
However, "Madras Cafe" still fetched ₹8.63 crore in its second week, taking the grand total to ₹42.67 crore.

The third big film, "Satyagraha", which opened to a flying start affected the business of all previous releases. Prakash Jha's directorial film features Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Amrita Rao in important roles.
"Satyagraha" fared well in its opening weekend, but during the weekdays the business remained low at several circuits in India.
In its first week, the film successfully managed to rake in around ₹55.43 crore.
"#Satyagraha collects ₹55.43 cr in Week 1: Fri 11.21 cr, Sat 13.08 cr, Sun 14.83 cr, Mon 5.07 cr, Tue 4.11 cr, Wed 3.62 cr, Thu 3.51 cr," Adarsh added.
The director of the film is happy with the positive attention the film is getting. "With the kind of numbers (box office collection) we have made, it proves the audience has liked the film," Prakash Jha told Press Trust of India.
