Allu Arjun starrer "Iddarammayilatho" is performing well in the opening weekend at the US box office.
"Iddarammayilatho", which was released on 31 May, has fetched ₹1.71 crore ($ 301,426) from 61 locations in the debut weekend.
"Telugu film #Iddarammayilatho has fared well in USA. Collected $ 301,426 [₹1.71 crore] on 61 screens in its opening weekend," Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
According to Taran, "Iddarammayilatho" earned $ 89,680 (around ₹50,731,97) during Thursday's preview, $82,008 (around ₹46,39,192) on Friday and $71,954 (around 40,63,961) on Saturday. Including Sunday's collections, the film has minted ₹1.71 crore in the opening weekend.
"Iddarammayilatho" also had a grand opening in India, with the film collecting more than ₹12 crore in the first day. The film was the biggest opening in Allu Arjun's film career, claimed his brother Allu Sirish.
Expressing happiness over the film's performance, producer Ganesh Bandla tweeted, "I proudly announce iddarammaailatho one more blockbuster in our PARAMESWARA ART PRODUCTIONS THANK U ALL BLESS US -:))".
With no big releases in the next one week, it is yet to be seen if the film would be able to sustain the momentum.
"Iddarammayilatho" story is about a guitarist, Sanju Reddy (Allu Arjun), and two women Akanksha (Catherine Tresa) and Komali Sankarabharanam (Amala Paul). The film generated a lot of buzz even before its release, thanks to Allu Arjun's stylish looks and interesting trailer.
Now that the film has been released and is running successfully at theatres, Allu Arjun will shift his focus to his next project titled "Race Gurram." The shooting will commence on 7 June in Hyderabad.
"Race Gurram" will be another commercial entertainer targeting Arjun's fans. Surender Reddy of "Kick" fame will wield the megaphone for this film. In a first, Allu Arjun will be seen sharing screen space with Shruti Haasan.
The rest of the cast in pivotal roles include Prakash Raj, Suhasini Maniratnam, Brahmanandam, Ali and M S Narayana.The film is jointly produced by Nallamallapu Srinivas (Bujji) and Dr Venkateswara Rao. Music is composed by S Thaman of "Baadshah' fame.
