The teaser of Arya-Nayantara starrer "Raja Rani" has gone viral, with the video fetching more than 5 lakh hits in just three days.
Till date, the teaser uploaded on YouTube has grossed 5,87,712 hits. On Saturday, the makers of "Raja Rani" launched the teaser in an innovative manner on the internet that surprised not just fans, but also celebrities from the film industry.
A wedding invite was doing the rounds on social networking sites with a message - "Arya Weds Nayanthara" - and the date was fixed as 11 May. The invite surprised everybody, but later it was revealed that the wedding card was part of a promotional campaign for the actors' upcoming film "Raja Rani".
Soon after, a teaser of the film was launched on the internet. The 45-second teaser begins with messages - "There is life after love failure" and "There is love after love failure". The video reveals the inner thoughts of two married couple.
The description of the video says, "Raja Rani is a romantic comedy for all age groups, with a stellar star cast, revolving around the lives of two indifferent people (Arya & Nayanthara), who get married to each other.
The innovative way of launching the trailer has worked wonders for the makers. The video received a grand response not just from the south, but also from Bollywood.
Bollywood and Chief Entertainment Editor of CNN IBN, Rajeev Masand, tweeted a message saying, "Ha! There's something sweet & funny abt this teaser of Raja Rani, the new Tamil film from Ghajini dir AR Murgadoss."
Bollywood actress Sophie Choudry tweeted, "Relationships r the same in every language!BRILL teaser!Haha! Raja Rani Teaser feat. Arya &Nayanthara [Official] [HD]."
Senior film journalist Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, "#RajaRani - Real imaginative teaser -Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.."
"Raja Rani" is the second film in which Arya and Nayanthara have teamed up. They were last seen in 2010 super hit film "Boss Engira Baskaran".
The film is directed by debutant Atlee and co-produced by Fox Star Studios & AR Murugadoss' venture. This is their third film after "Engeyum Eppodhum" and "Vathikuchi". Music is composed by G V Prakash. "Raja Rani" boasts of an ensemble cast including Santhanam, Jai, Nazriya, Sathyan, Manobala and Satyaraj.
