Omar Borkan Al Gala, the United Arab Emirates citizen who was allegedly deported from Saudi Arabia for being 'too handsome', is enjoying his newfound stardom.
The 25-year-old self proclaimed actor, fashion photographer and poet, made headlines recently after it was reported that he is one of the three men who were forcibly send back to UAE because of their good looks.
According to Arabic newspaper Elaph, the three men were in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh to attend the annual Jenadrivah Heritage & Cultural Festival. The three Emirati were deported by religious police because they are too handsome.
The Commission [for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices] members feared that female visitors could fall for them because of their sex appeal.
Although, the names of the three delegates have not been released officially, several reports suggest that Al Gala is one of the three men who was deported.
Al Gala has now a became worldwide sensation after it was reported that he one of the three handsome men. His Facebook page has garnered more than 5, 42,000 likes within a week and still counting.
The actor is also on social networking Twitter with over 11, 000 followers in an account that seems to have been created only after his name surfaced online.
On his Twitter handle he also posted a blog link which said that he began his career in Dubai and has studied in Vancouver, Canada.
His photos went viral as soon as his name was revealed. Also, the internet has been overflowing with searches like "Omar Borkan Al Gala Wife" and his Facebook page taking top positions on Google.
Al Gala, basking in the new gained fame, thanked his hundreds and thousands of followers on Facebook with a post: "Hi, and thank you for all those lovely messages. I'm sorry I haven't had time to get back to all of you :D Xoxo I Love you all!"
