Indian film actor, director, and producer Aamir Khan turned 48 on Thursday. The actor who is shooting for his upcoming movie "Dhoom 3" will reportedly be celebrating his anniversary on the sets of the film in Switzerland.
According to reports, the entire crew of "Dhoom 3" is planning to throw a party for the actor. He has been wished by many from the Bollywood fraternity including Karan Johar, Kunal Kohli and Salman.

Born as Aamir Hussain Khan, the actor belonged to a family that was a part of the Indian motion picture industry for several decade.

His first adult role was in 1984 movie "Holi" but he went unnoticed. He shot to fame after the success of "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak" (1988).
In the subsequent years, the actor stuck to his principles of doing just one or two movies a year, of which few were commercially and critically acclaimed. Some of his successful movies include "Dil" (1990), "Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin" (1991), "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar" (1992), "Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke" (1993) and "Rangeela" (1995). Other films of his fared average or well below the mark at the box office.
In 2001, Aamir forayed into production with Academy Award nominated "Lagaan." After six years he made his directorial debut through "Taare Zameen Par."
Aamir was also seen anchoring "Satyamev Jayate," a show based on social issues like dowry, female foeticide, child sexual abuse, honour killings, alcohol addiction and other serious concerns.
Aamir married Reena Dutta on 18 April, 1986. The couple parted ways after 15 years when he filed for a divorce in 2002. Three years down the line, he married Kiran Rao who was the assistant director of "Lagaan."
