At least 50 people were killed when a bus rammed into a truck in Pakistan's Sindh province on Tuesday. The dead includes eight women and children, police said.
Additionally, over 20 people were injured in the accident near Theri Bypass in Sukkur district, Xinhua reported.
The bus was on its way from Swat district to Karachi and had over 80 passengers on board. The fate of the remaining passengers is not known yet.
On one hand, it is being said that the bus driver fell asleep while driving, due to which the vehicle hit a truck coming from the opposite direction, on the other, police have reportedly said that the accident took place due to heavy fog in the region, reported AP.
President Mamnoon Hussain expressed grief over the accident and directed hospital administration to provide best possible medical treatment to the injured.
Sindh Province Governor Ishrat Ibad also expressed condolence to the family members of the victims.
