Ducati, Italian sports bike manufacturer, unveiled its take on modern cruiser motorcycle with the attributes of performance motorcycle ahead of 2015 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The result has been christened as Ducati XDiavel power cruiser.
Bologna based sportbike manufacturer, known for its motorcycle projected in red, has taken a different route for the unveiling of the XDiavel which is in pitch black shade. Ducati claims the XDiavel brings together two worlds: the cruiser attributes of low speeds, relaxed riding and long journeys and the Ducati's Italian style, engineering and performance.
The XDiavel features belt-drive and powered by a Testastretta DVT 1262cc, V-twin engine that makes 156hp at 9,500rpm and 129Nm maximum torque at 5000rpm. The engine is mated to 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch. The motorcycle weighs 220kg and comes with a wheelbase of 1615mm.
The technical side in the motorcycle includes 3.5-inch TFT colour display, Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), together with Ducati Traction Control (DTC), riding modes, Bosch cornering ABS and cruise control. The XDiavel also got a launch control system christened as Ducati Power Launch (DPL) activated by a neat red button on the right side of handlebar.
The XDiavel is built on tubular steel trellis frame and comes with adjustable USD suspension up front while the rear gets mono shock. The braking is taken care by 320mm Brembo double disk brakes on front wheel and 265mm disc at rear.
Ducati claims the XDiavel a full blown cruiser combined with sport bike kind of agility which is highlighted with a maximum lean angle of 41 degrees. The regular Diavel's lean angle is 41 degree.
