Akshay Kumar has created quite a stir with his unrecognisable "crowman" avatar from "2.0." Triggering the excitement a notch, sources say the makers are looking at a Diwali 2017 release.
"Shankar and the team feels Robot 2.0 should have a holiday release. They are looking at releasing it next Diwali. But they will take a call once they finish the principal shooting of the film and start on the VFX work on the film which will take them a few months in itself," an insider told DNA.
In the leaked photos, Akshay's crazy scientist avatar Dr. Richard, wearing a plumed jacket and extended eyebrows, is seen unleashing fear on a group of people. According to the Bombay Times, the team was filming a crucial scene at New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium when the images were taken. At present, they are on a 15-20 day schedule in the national capital.
Designer-stylist Rocky S said the anti-hero's look would be "devilish," but it comes across as hilarious. The ochre lenses, grey hair and fangs appear gimmicky. But, the fans loved it.
Akshay's look in the film may be hogging the limelight for now, but "2.0" has been in news for the technicians it has hired from out West for prepping the action sequences.
Legacy Effects, a USA-based animatronics firm that was pivotal in creating the battle-ready robots of "Iron Man" and "Avengers," has been roped in, reported Firstpost. Kenny Bates, who was at the top of overseeing stunts in "Transformers," will do the same in "2.0." Tau Films' Walt Jones and John Hughes have been pulled on board for VFX.
Made on a lavish budget, the much-written-about film will have Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson in the lead.
