Romantic and comedy film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" which topped the box office collection charts since its release has shown a decline in its collection in the fourth week.
After three weeks of unstoppable run, "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" was affected by Dhanush-Sonam Kapoor starrer "Raanjhanaa". However, the film is still earning pretty well at the domestic box office.
The film has raked in a total of ₹177.09 crore from India and ₹56.30 crore from the overseas box office.
"Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has a great repeat value. Also, its chartbuster songs are pulling people back to the cinema houses over and over again," Girish Wankhede, General Manager Marketing and Public Relations for Cinemax India Ltd said.
The collections declined considerably because of less number of screens due to the release of "Raanjhanaa". On the fourth Friday and Saturday the film managed to earn more than ₹1 crore.
With the release of "Ghanchakkar" the collections and screen count will decline more.
The Ranbir-Deepika starrer is expected to conclude the fourth week with ₹10- ₹12 crore in its pocket, which will take its lifetime collection to approximately ₹190 crore.
With the decline in business, the film might not break Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger" record which collected ₹198 crore. And it's very unlikely that it will cross the ₹200 crore mark.
The film has gained the third position at the box office with Salman and Aamir Khan.
