South Indian actress Tamannah, who debuted in Bollywood opposite Ajay Devgn in "Himmatwala", is upset over the critics review - rating her performance in the movie as below average.
"Himmatwala" is a remake of a 1983 Hindi film with the same title starring Jeetendra and Sridevi in lead roles.
Tamannah, a well known figure in the southern film industry, is reportedly disappointed after the critics announced the verdict that the actress was able to portray Sridevi's glam quotient in film but could not match up with her in terms of the veteran actress's acting skills.
Directed by Sajid Khan and co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani, "Himmatwala" hit the screens on March 29. The much hyped movie disappointed the critics who commented that the "Himmatwala" was nothing short of a remake spoof.
Saying that "Himmatwala" did not meet upto the claim of being an entertainer, trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh wrote: "On the whole, HIMMATWALA fails as a film. The only silver lining is the presence of A-list stars and of course, the hype surrounding the film, which might attract footfalls in mass-friendly circuits initially. But as a film that promises big entertainment, HIMMATWALA is hugely disappointing!"
Although the "Himmatwala" did not win the heart of the critics, it reportedly raked in ₹12 crore at the domestic box office on first day. Click here to see the detailed report of the movie's first day collection.
